De-conversion

There’s a really interesting post by Kieran Bennett at a faithless blogger analysing over 100 accounts of why people left their Christian faith. Interestingly hypocritical churches came fourth in the list.

I was also rather surprised that the hypocrisy of church’s didn’t come up more often in the deconversion stories.
It’s something that as an athiest seems blindingly apparent about religion, but not so for the religious.
Thanks for the link, I’m glad you found it interesting.
I have taken a good look but it was a bit long, so need to take another look at some point. Just glanced at some pieces. A lot of people seemed to become uncertain in childhood. I can’t say at this point that I have read something which hits me. Have formed no overall opinion of this one way or the other at present. Keeping an open mind.
Thanks for the link to Kieran’s blog. It’s a very interesting read.
Great link, thanks! For some reason, I find these sorts of stories (as well as contrariwise) really interesting. Probably because I didn’t go through it myself.
